About this course
The availability of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) have paved the way for improved safety in anticoagulation among patients with atrial fibrillation without compromising efficacy. However, the use of NOACs varies depending on the specific drug, indication, and patient characteristics. This e-learning module reviews practical considerations in choosing and initiating use of NOACs for patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, discusses considerations in special populations, and management options for instances of bleeding complications. A review of current real-world experience on NOACs is included to shed light on the clinical experience of various institutions using these medications.
