Overview
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of overall well-being that includes physical, mental, and social aspects. To achieve this, it is important to promote both wellness and preventive care among adults. The latter encompasses prevention of disease onset, early detection of diseases while asymptomatic, and prevention of sequelae and complications of disease when present.
This e-learning module aims to discuss the spectrum of preventive medicine for both individual patients and general adult population which includes health screening tests based on risk factors, immunization, non-pharmacologic interventions for primary prevention, and pharmacologic interventions for secondary prevention of diseases.
