Overview

About this course

Vaccination is one of the most effective public health strategies for preventing diseases. However, vaccination coverage is still noted to be low in many countries and a significant decline of vaccination rates in children is due to parental vaccine hesitancy. Vaccine hesitancy is the refusal to get vaccinated despite vaccine availability and is caused by an interplay between several factors. To overcome vaccine hesitancy, these factors must be investigated, understood, and addressed by the primary care physician.

This e-learning module lays down several strategies on how parental vaccine hesitancy can be mitigated by the primary care physician.
