About this course

Autism spectrum disorder is a complex neurodevelopmental condition characterized by distinctive social impairments along with restricted and repetitive behaviors in children. Early identification through routine screening is crucial for timely intervention. Primary care physicians play a key role in the identification of individuals with autism that leads to early intervention and therefore improve their functional independence and overall quality of life.

This e-learning module aims to discuss what is autism spectrum disorder, how it is diagnosed, and what is the appropriate management approach to this condition.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Understand autism and recognize its signs in individuals
  • Learn about the diagnostic criteria and assessment approach for autism
