Overview
Menopause is a physiologic process that women undergo resulting in a myriad of physical changes that affect their overall quality of life. Women in perimenopause and postmenopausal stages commonly experience vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes and insomnia. Hormone replacement therapy is still the first-line treatment in the management of these symptoms, in conjunction with other non-hormonal therapy and non-pharmacologic interventions.
This e-learning module aims to review menopause and its physiology and to discuss the management approach to menopause in primary care, including when to refer to a specialist.
