

Overview
Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition that can affect women during pregnancy. Effectively managing asthma in
pregnancy is crucial to ensure the well-being of both the expectant mother and the fetus. While pharmacologic
interventions are the mainstay of treatment, non-pharmacologic measures are also emphasized as part of the
overall management of asthma during this period.
This e-learning module aims to review the physiologic
changes in pregnancy affecting women with asthma, its fetal and maternal complications, and to discuss the
approach to the management of asthma in pregnancy.
