About this course

Palliative care is one of the health spectrum components essential in ensuring the quality of life of patients and families facing life-threatening illnesses. This involves identifying and managing the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual challenges inherent in this situation. To achieve this, it is essential to integrate palliative care and hospice care into the practice of primary care providers and should be aligned with the provisions and implementation of Universal Health Care (UHC).

This e-learning module aims to discuss palliative care and the gaps and barriers encountered in its practice, alongisde the importance of its integration into the UHC.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Understand palliative care, including its principles, and role in UHC
  • Have insight into the integration of Palliative Care and Primary Care
  • Understand the recent initiatives in Primary Palliative Care across the region (Asia Pacific)
