About this course
Puberty is a transformative phase in a person’s life and is highlighted by the period of menarche and
menstruation in girls. Instituting proper menstrual hygiene at this young age is essential for their
physical and emotional well-being. Our schools can be instrumental in promoting menstrual hygiene to ensure
that girls go through this natural process with comfort and adequate knowledge.
This e-learning
module aims to discuss puberty and the menstrual cycle, and expounds on the importance of menstrual hygiene,
and how it can be promoted in the school setting.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Understand the physiologic changes caused by puberty in girls
- Understand the menstrual cycle and the importance of feminine hygiene during menstruation
- Understand the role of schools in promoting feminine hygiene
