Occupational asthma (OA) is a type of work-related asthma that develops due to conditions attributable to
exposures at work. It is a common debilitating workplace condition that poses significant medical,
socio-economic, and legal implications.
Early diagnosis and prompt management of OA is crucial as a
shorter symptomatic period is associated with a better outcome, with some cases achieving complete recovery.
This e-learning module on occupational asthma presents the diagnostic approach and management of the
condition, including the stepwise approach to using asthma inhalers and other asthma treatment medications.
