Overview
Patient education aims to empower patients in actively managing their health in various settings, one of which is the community pharmacy setting. However, a major challenge in effective patient education is the complexity of medical information. Possessing effective communication skills for medical counselling promotes a strong therapeutic alliance between the pharmacist and the patient and leads to medication safety and adherence.
This e-learning module highlights strategies on how to improve communication skills, overcome communication barriers, and establish trust with patients while upholding necessary ethical considerations in the community pharmacy setting.
