Overview

About this course

Exploratory assessments of TAK-003 have been conducted to gain a holistic understanding of the immunogenicity of the live-attenuated dengue vaccine. In this e-Learning module, Dr Mayuri Sharma shares pertinent immunogenicity data for the TAK-003 vaccine and the ways in which the vaccine could address specific challenges associated with dengue infection. Dr Sharma works in Vaccine Research and Analytics at Takeda Vaccines. She leads research initiatives that support both dengue and Zika vaccine programmes.

Learning outcomes

Upon completing this module, participants will be able to:

  • List the three key arms of the immune system that protect against infection and disease in the context of the TAK-003 vaccine
  • Describe the immune responses elicited by the TAK-003 vaccine that could address specific infection¬-associated challenges

Topics covered:

  • Innate immune response in the transcriptional profile post-TAK-003 vaccination
  • Magnitude, quality and functionality of humoral immune response to vaccine
  • Humoral and cell-mediated response to vaccine non-structural proteins
