Overview

About this course

Healthcare providers encounter patients with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) every day. Inclusivity in healthcare is essential in providing services and management options that are appropriate, individualized, and holistic to all individuals. This also includes acquiring and using communication skills that build rapport and dissolve fears of discrimination and judgment.

This e-learning module highlights the barriers to accessing health services faced by the LGBTQIA+ community and how healthcare providers can provide better healthcare to this community through culturally sensitive communication skills that also resonate inclusivity.
