About this course

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is no longer considered a diagnosis of exclusion – a positive diagnosis of IBS can be made in a patient with classical symptoms, aided by a limited set of investigations. ​This module equips the health care provider with the diagnostic and treatment framework to effectively manage mild to moderate cases of IBS in the community.

At the end of this module, learners will be able to:
  • Accurately diagnose IBS
  • If necessary, prescribe medications that can help control a patient’s symptoms
  • Manage a patient’s expectations of their condition
